Not sure never had it tested. I found it in a jewelry box that i had for a while so i decided to add it to one of these chains that I auction off and it goes beautiful together.

I feel as though this is a garnet and not a ruby as it is very red and slightly orange looking. Apposed to redish-pink. Still very beautiful.
