The listing, Living Moss, Fairy Garden, Terrarium, Bonsai Supplies...LOTS of Photos! has ended.

Hand-gathered vibrant live moss and lichens! They will come with roots and a bit of soil still attached in a protective plastic box like you see in the first photo. Oh, and be sure to click on the "view larger" button because I took a lot of closeups with great details!

Great for making terrariums, vivariums, flower or decorative arrangements, bonsai or anything else your imagination comes up with!

Procured by hand from my wooded property in Central Virginia. Carefully packaged and shipped via Priority Mail in a small flat rate box. Not every batch will be the same, but each will include a variety of different items of high quality as illustrated in the many photos above.

Water beads will not work. Mosses and especially lichens need rich organic decaying matter such as leave mould( practically decayed tree leaves) to continue to survive and grow. For some reason buttermilk helps them grow. I do believe it has to do with acid levels. I actually have a book on how to grow mosses.

Now are these for inside or outside? Do you plant near a tree or strictly inside?

They are all from outside and like partially sunny/shady areas. They also need to be kept somewhat moist. You can plant them inside in a terrarium or outside.

I think they will because the water beads are just like soil. You can use them to start plants, grow plants-trees and everything, just like soil. I will try it a little at a time, if I win. Thank you my dear friend!!!! :)

These are wonderful!!! I live in western NC and we have a lot of natural moss and lichens. Try googling "Mossin' Annie Martin." She is a local lady who has gained a lot of attention for her work with mosses. She is also on Facebook.
