If your the adventurous gardener that likes to experiment with new plant cuttings this is the one to try. I mostly grow it for its lovely silvery-green needle like foliage. It is a wonderful accent plant for texture and color. Do not expect flowers all season as explained below.
One of the most dramatic plants for spilling over the sides of containers, lotus bears soft, silvery foliage and bold, lobster-clawlike flowers in shades of orange, red, and yellow. Many lotus varieties bloom best in spring or fall as cool nighttime temperatures encourage blooms. In warm-winter areas, lotus is a striking evergreen perennial groundcover. It grows best in full sun with well-drained soil. I over winter my plant after growing it outside all summer. I am offering up to 10 cuttings of the leggy winter growth perfect for starting new plants.

So do we just dip in rooting hormone, plant in soil and raise humidity

Rooting hormone never hurts to use it. Personally I don't use it. Misting your planted cuttings or covering them to raise the humidity is always recommend for at least the first week. The most important thing for root production is the allowing the soil to dry out. By do this you encourage roots to search out moisture thus making them grow.

No they will not have roots. Most plants will root in water but I haven't had success with these that way. I cut these cuttings fresh as soon as the auction ends. They will be older thicker stems that helps them root easily.
