I'm reading this again and it's ***** me off....I can't believe people were flagging your auctions because of the shipping fee. I know this is a "free" site but c'mon you can't expect to get a brand new, made with love item for completely FREE. I am HAPPY to use my Listia credits as $ and get a nice quality item and only have to use REAL $ for shipping. What you're charging for shipping is a pittance compared to what you have invested. Phooey to all those negative nellies!!

You are so very right. The sock yarn I listed would cost more than 25 dollars if I count in the dye. Time it takes to dye, buying quality yarn and quality dye, and my time too. I'm just a college student and I don't think it's unfair for me to charge a bit of money. People are so rude and incentive and just plain a-holes

Love the colors! You do an excellent job. Dyeing & spinning are next of my to-learn list!

Thank you very much :)
But sadly this will be my last yarn I'll be listing. I've been getting many complains and have had my auctions flagged because people refuse to accept that I need to charge a little more than the standard shipping because the credits I'm getting to no equal out to the work I put into buying the yarn, dying it,spin it and etc.
I do hope you win this one, I've auction off a lot of yarn and everyone has been so pleased.

I don't think that you can get someone to truly appreciate good yarn until you've had something good in your hands. I used to only use acrylics because of cost but as I get older, I am recognizing the quality in items is often well worth the cost as it is with many things these days.

I think you are right. I still use acrylics for many things that I make for my self and to sell. But I'm a sucker for natural fibers.

I have to agree...I've been on the receiving end of some of that nonsense! I now have to add a "Seller's Terms" to all my auctions. It seems to work for the most part.

~~MY TERMS AS SELLER ~~

If you can’t agree with the following, please be respectful and do not bid:

> I am happy to work with anyone who wins my items, so ask to resolve any problems with me personally before posting negative feedback to my account or any one elses. Negatives affect business, and detract from this site’s enjoyment. I have a 100% positive rating and work hard to keep it.

> I ship a few times each week but not necessarily the day after an auction ends.

> Free shipping, when offered, is only in the USA. However, delivery confirmation is not something I use since most items go first class letter. Buyer's option on first class parcels at Buyers expense.

> I carefully package all items I ship out. Alert your post office, rather than me, to poor handling. All items are taken to the post office. I will not be responsible for lost, mangled or mishandled mail. I will do my best to give you an ETA on your item(s) based on the day I ship.

> Difficult customers and suspected fraudulent dispute filers shall be blocked from future auctions. I will not respond to rude, accusatory or argumentative e-mails.

> If I do not hear from you, I will NOT refund credits and I have the option of relisting any items. If shipping fees are not paid in 48 hours the same applies.

Feel free to use my terms for your ads, changing them as needed.
Despite some negativity, thanks for visiting and happy bidding!

LOL...I still get those that want 'free' but I just can't afford it. I just spent $136.26 in shipping materials. :o(

Do you ever do a lot of yarn so they have the same 'dye lot'?

I hate the complainers, they drive me bonkers.
I do a lot yarn, I'm actually dying some right now. I usually do 1 or 2 bats of the same colors at time depending on yardage.
if its less than 200 yards I make 2 bats so its enough to make a scarf or socks or hat or even mittens especially since crochet uses more yarn than knitting.
is there anything you have in mind?

I'm partial to purples and varying shades from the blue-purples to the red-purples. :-) Really like the colors she used. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to have enough credits to win this one.

This turned out BEAUTIFUL. I am just learning different ways to dye yarn. If you would of had 2 of these I would have made some socks. I will think of what else I could make with it. I am going to fan you !
