Description
The listing, Roman Empire Bronze Coin-Genuine! has ended.
This is very worn and I cannot identify it properly but has bust facing right and horse facing left. A genuine coin from the Roman Empire. Measure approx. 5/8" at it's widest. I do not sell fake anything.
Questions & Comments
Well it's good to know someone else actually knows the value of ancient coins. I have a Judea shekel. I had it appraised cuz I thought it was 400-500 years old. Turns out it is one of the First Revolt Silver shekels, struck in 66-67 a.d. it still has judean dirt in the bevels.
The thing about old coins like this one is the fact that you haven't cleaned it. The value actually decreases when you clean off the dirt and other contaminants. So good on you for auctioning it as is.
Although sometimes it's necessary to clean the encrusted gunk off in order to identify the emperor and/or time period. When I do clean ancients, I only use distilled water and vinegar. No harsh cleaning chemicals.
