Description

The listing, Old Bull Durham Tobacco Advertising Sign has ended.

This is an old sign that probably hung inside a store. It features Bull Durham Smoking Tobacco and looks like a package of the stuff.

It's made of thick paper with a metal ring reenforcement at the top. The front looks great and the back has that old yellowed look.

I don't know what time period it's from. That would make a great little research project for someone.

It measures 17 1/2" x 11 1/2" .

It would make a great gift for anyone who collects old advertising or tobacciana.

Check out my other auctions for more old advertising signage.

Free shipping! It will NOT be folded!

It's not new but I can't say if it's an original or a reproduction. I got it at an antique store but that doesn't mean anything. It looks old, but it also looks like it's in great shape....so it could be either one. I wish I could be of more help!

Follow Up Quesion to if the sign is a Reproduction or New:
Sometimes a piece just eludes an instinctual feeling as to whether or not it is an original or reproduction,
I am interested what your thoughts are now that you have lived with the sign for a while - as to whether the sign is a reproduction or not.
Thanks for the auction and your anticipated reply. Appreciated

My sincere apology I did not realise that you were listing the item and was able to address the heart of my question as it relates NOT to what you see but your intuitive sense. I am sure as you know in your role as antique dealer that some items authenticity come across so strong that despite what they look like you sense their value.
I appreciate your willingness to address the question as it sound as if you have a strong opinion regarding this auction. In addition, I will take into consideration the view points that you provide as someone who owned 2 antique stores selling similar items for use as decorative items, whether old or reproductions.
We do agree the signs do look cool.
