Anything you can hold in your hand, I suppose. From what I've read, you can use this when traveling for mending and repairing. You can use it for quilting and hems. You can even use it for decorative work. I have never used one. I simply tested this one to make sure it works - and it does. Sewing is not one of my hobbies. That's why I've listed it here.
