Good Day, My Listia Friends,
Today I have a most unusual & Very Beautiful piece for you!

I'm not sure how many of you recall several of my previous Auctions that revolved around unusual items my Wandering Grandpa, Honorious, brought Home to my Grandma Blanche, from his Mysterious & quite frequent, Travels.
We would never know when he was going to slip away to Africa, Europe, South America, Alaska or wherever his Traveling Bones wanted to take Him. He would be gone for a few Days, Weeks, or Months & none of us really knew Why or How, he managed to do this, as he was of meager means & had 6 Daughters !!!! What a Mystery !!

My Wonderful Grandma Blanche was so very Kind & Loving & Pie maker, extraordenair & watched me after School got out, as my Mom worked late. I would sit with her by the very large Radio in her Parlor, & we would listen to "Soap Opera" type programs that really kept your attention!! Oh, & she had a Piano that had the rolls & played Music!! I took Piano lessons there with Miss Moltrie, but that Story will have to wait for now ~~

Anyhoo~~ I digress ~~ After this particular disappearance, oops, ah~~ Trip, he brought a Fabulous Linen, wonderously Embroidered Table scarf to Grandma Blanche. Turns out that he was in Spain, & got it in Barcelona ~~( or thereabouts, we will say), as no one was ever sure if his stories were true ;0)

This amazing piece has interesting subject matter, is skillfully handcrafted, & is still brilliant in color, after about 60 years. It was used & loved for several years, thus, the stains you see, & after that was stored away.
From it's appearance, the Mothballs failed to do thier job adequately, & there are some holes that I have shown.

Even with these imperfections, I feel that someone who is skilled in Sewing, Crafting or Embroidery, will be able to either repair it or re-purpose it into a wonderful rendition of Antique/Vintage beauty.

Watching! Am already a fan. I would love to hear more about your granddad! The scarf is lovely. I can just imagine your grandmother using it when it was new and now the years have passed, the scarf has aged, but still with beauty. I have a piano this could easily fit on!

Once again I knew this beauty was yours!! Stuff like this is so hard to find these days especially in this great condition. It can be repaired with minimal effort & sewing skills & I will give winner instructions including my phone number to walk them thru if necessary. i love the stories. I now at 75 take care of great grandkids. They have no TV but sadly have an I pad which is more intersesting then Grandma.
