Description

The listing, Native-made Shield has ended.

The hoop of this Shield is 9 inches and, the approximate total hanging length is 28-30 inches.
Historically, a Shield was hung within a lodge [home] & acted as a Shield of Protection. They also honored the animal[s] that they were made of; such as, rabbit [fur], the wool from sheep, bird's feathers, leather or other natural materials. These were often adorned with silver, beads, leather strips, or whatever the maker chose to use. Most often, these could be found among the Southwestern Tribes rather than within the Eastern Tribes.
