I see on the letter opener and the leather case Japan to indicate the country of where item was made.

I see some where and tear on letter opener knife of paint removed or rubbed off in when held. Item is still able to use to open a letter or cut with. I am not sure of year item made. It could be from the 1940s to 1960s or later and I not see a year and that be time period I guess item is from.

The leather case seem to be in good shape and snap fasten well.
