This is a used edition of Frank Herbert's masterpiece, Children of Dune. If you haven't read the Dune series of books yet, and know that you like Frank Herbert's writings a little bit, I suggest you add this book to your list of "to reads". I would not suggest reading this one right off of the bat though as this is the third book of what was early on called "The Dune Trilogy." That "trilogy" has since blossomed into a 14 book of Epic proportions. As if the first book "Dune" wasn't epic enough right?! Wow! If you have a year or so to tackle a 14 book sci fi collection, I highly recommend that you get into this series. If you want a little taste of what this is all about you have 1 motion picture, and two TV miniseries that you can watch to get that taste. I highly suggest that you see the 1984 motion picture directed by David Lynch that starred Patrick Stewart, Dean Stockwell, and Kyle McLaughlin. Frank Herbert saw a cut of the film before it was theatrically released (which happened after his death unfortunately) and loved it! So, to me, the 84 film IS THE film to watch. The Sci Fi channel put out the two mini series, which I didn't really like. But, eh....that's just me. If you should have any questions about this book, do not hesitate to ask.
