You can list good things that dont weight alot so you dont have to pay so much for postage.

Sure. You bid on things you want. The object is to have the highest bid at the end of an auction unless you gin an auction. When you gin an auction, you automatically win the auction. You will receive notifications on your screen close to the upper right corner (the sort of wheel looking thing. When you click it your notifications will then show. Thats also where you will find out if you have been outbid on any auctions. When you want to bid, you just click on the area in which you bid, then you type in your bid then you confirm your bid.
