This is probably a stupid question to you but do you know if the 20Gauge is the average gauge that they pierce with. I'm not sure what gauge mine is and was just wondering,

Not a stupid question at all! Actually 20g and 18g are the most common nose piercings. So you should be fine no matter what size your piercing is because the difference is like 0.2mm.
