The listing, Used Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 - "Service Desk Edition" - Free Shipping has ended.
This is Office Home and Student 2007 "Service Desk Edition." I got this here as used software, no longer installed on previous owners machine. I looked up "Service Desk Edition" online and most posts agree that its the usual version in a smaller box, completely legal for private users to install for the regular non-commercial use as per normal Office Home and Student version.
The designation apparently refers to it being sold from behind service desks at computer stores when users come in to the service desk looking for upgrades. Here is a commercial vendor selling it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Office-Student-2007-Service/dp/B000HDKVCM/ref=cm_cmu_pg__header. Amazon is normally very careful about software sales so selling to private users seems to be fine.
As I believe is now normal for Office Home and Student 2007 versions you can install on up to 3 computers but you have to be able to give an E-mail address to Microsoft that has an .edu extension. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this version.
