A United States Postal Service Letter Carrier Badge. # 17 of many many thousands when the USPS updated the style of uniforms in 1979. Carriers no longer wore breast badges. They then issued Hat Badges as this one is. It has two SCREW ON mounts on the reverse to secure to the hat.
