Brilliant red oriental poppy seeds. Approx 30 seeds in this auction, these are seed that are directly from the package so they will be true because they are left over from what didn't get planted. The color will be true to the Image on the package. DO NOT plant any poppy seeds now, all poppies need a cold snap (time getting very cold) and can not be covered only pressed into the soil, as well as the cold time, moisture they also MUST have light to germinate. Plant poppy's in fall or winter so they will be strong and already growing by spring time. If you plant poppy seeds before fall winter you will not get them to grow. I live in the desert and keep all my poppy seeds in the freezer all year until I'm ready to plant them. I stagger my plantings so(every 1 or 2 weeks), for a long season of flowers. Poppy's should be planted in a spot that will get multiple hours of direct sunlight. The more space you give the seeds to grow the larger they will get. They are tiny but do your best to plant seeds at least 6 inches apart, more space if possible. If you end up with a cluster of sprouts, figure out what sprout it the best looking and then you will need to rip all the other sprouts around it. You waste less seed if you be sure to give each one space. And then you won't need to pull up precious baby sprouts. There is about 20 plus seed in this auction. The poppy's will be 2 plus feet tall.
