This is a pair of Crown Trifari earrings...vintage, rare and collectable...

These earrings look as though they have never been worn. They are in awesome condition...

The backing reads TRIFARI with the crown above the T and the copyright symbol...

In 1955 U.S. Copyright Law was revised to allow jewelry designs to be copyrighted using the copyright symbol.

Trifari then started using the copyright symbol in its signature. Pieces of that era will have both the Crown and Copyright symbols in the signature, which was used in the late 1950's to late 1960's. In 1970 the signature was changed, they dropped the copyright symbol and used instead the trademark symbol.. clear picture of the crown and copyright symbol pic 5

Many of the most highly sought after vintage Trifari pieces have this signature. It is called "CROWN TRIFARI" by dealers and collectors.

These earrings were on this card when I aquired them. on the back is a sticker showing these were sold at LAZARUS Dept. Store..That store also has quite the history, people living in Ohio should remember this dept.store well.. Now known as Lazarus/Macy's..

The $11.00 price for this pair of earrings was high back in the 60's...Minimum wage was $1.25 per hour, meaning somebody would have to work 9 hours in order to buy these...
