The attractive Aloe cameronii (Cameron's Ruwari Aloe, Red Aloe) A medium sized aloe with many upright stems of open rosettes to to 1 to 2 feet with unique leaves that are medium to dark green that turn a beautiful coppery red in summer and bear 1 foot tall spikes of bright orange-red flowers that appear primarily from late fall into early winter. And while the flowers are truly beautiful, they are even more attractive in contrast with the deep red of Aloe cameronii leaves.


Loves full sun in a well drained soil and irrigate only occasionally to enhance the red coloration of the foliage, which will remain green if overwatered. Hardy to mid to upper 20's. This is one of the most attractive Aloes!!!


Aloe cameronii, known as the Red Aloe, and is a lovely succulent that is native to South Africa.


A medium-sized, clustering aloe with leaves that turn from green to intensely red or purplish in summer. Has many upright stems of open rosettes to to 30-60cm tall.


Produces 30cm tall spikes of bright orange-red flowers that appear primarly from late autumn into early winter.


Plant in full sun in a well drained soil and irrigate only occasionally to enhance the red colouration of the foliage. Can handle mild frosts.


Aloe cameronii was first discovered by Kenneth Cameron of the African Lakes Corporation, who sent it to the Royal Botanic Garden at Kew in 1854.
