This Dooney and Bourke is AMAZING!!

This is Vintage from the early 1980s yet it looks brand new!

I have set a GIN and set for bidding. Some of my bags go for GIN while others go with Bidding it is up to you how you want to play :)

I thought I had one but there was NO tag inside . I was told that it might be really older like in the early 80's but if yours has a tag them maybe mine isn't . I love it though . I am keeping my eye on it .

I have one that is authentic from the first year they were out with no tag. It depends on the style. The only reason I know the one I have without tag is authentic is my mom purchased it in London in the early 80s from a reputable dealer. I think now that I think about it I'll put it with this one since they match... Hmm maybe a bonus for using GIN ;) thanks for reminding me about that one.

This one has a tag because it is 3rd or 4th year, that is when they started tagging them

These have been kept very nicely, they do have a very slight old leather smell but it is not over powering or even really noticeable unless you really put your face in the bag

The tag and registration number checks out and it belonged to my mom, she got it back in the 80s and had quite a few. You could say she is a purse snob. She only purchased her purses from reputable dealers and paid top dollar. No nock offs for her she could smell them a mile away.

Also you can check it out by talking to the company and googling the number I. The picture on the tag. It will show you the equivalent purses on the dooney site for today that match this one.

This main bag is an older bag I have only seen one other like this one. The GIN bag is SUPER RARE I have never seen it! But knowing the bags history helps me know the years. I have had so many folks ask why I don't sell them for $$ .... I say because I'm a listia nut and I get great finds I love with the credits gained.

Besides this way folks who normally couldn't have a great bag like this because they are out priced, get a chance to have an amazing bag for FREE :)

yes, i agree on listia being addicting too. i'm starting to list my designer bags here now. it tends to be a problem watching all these possible things, though, huh? but you're right about a # of things: it's a rare style bag by D & B, it's great to get the credits to get something else you can use, and the older bags don't always have registration labels, plus other people here get the chance to get designer items for free.

I agree it is nice to get things here I can use. And yes you are right the older bags do not always have numbers. Especially the European sold ones. And to find an early bag with numbers it is almost always a USA bag, but folks have to be careful about these bags when folks do not know the history or the tell tale signs of a fake.

Because too many folks take an item on face value and end up with a "retro knock off" I had this even happen to me a few years back when I nearly purchased a bag from a flea market because I thought it was cute and didn't care real or not, but when I looked at the stitching I knew right away it was a fake. Now I have educated myself so I know better.

Yes listia is Soooo addicting, sometimes it is hard to keep up with things I watch and want lol I loose more things than I win, but that is probably a good thing less clutter and all lol

That's definitely an authentic Dooney! I had some of my own, and you can't mistake them. This one is really beautiful and they last forever too! Lucky girl that gets this one! I sold mine on another site, and I got top dollar for them. These "vintage" ones are really in demand now. Good Luck, you should do really well on this beauty!
