What a fascinating story about Francis Farmer. . . Thankfully as a society we are better informed about mental illness than 60 years ago. . . sadly, not enough to avoid the same stigmantras of the ill- and uninformed. Thank you for offering this portrait of a heroic woman artist. I will, indeed, be watching.

Thanks so much for this comment. While most girls gushed over Marilyn Monroe and Aubrey Hepburn I always loved Francis Farmer because she was so real and intelligent and a such a survivor. I read her autobiography when I was 13 and it always stick with me -- that and Nirvana made a song about her :)
