Hi, It's designed to be used either with the Clarisonic skin care brush or on its own, and Clarisonic has several different types of cleansers, including ones for deep pore cleaning and breakouts. This is the cleanser designed for normal to sensitive skin, so I would say, no, it's not best for breakouts and blackheads; it's probably not strong enough for that type of cleansing.
