actually the shipping cost can be cheaper if your not including other stuff with it, it would fit into a small flatrate shipping box from the post office, those are only 5 bucks to ship, add a dollar and a half for tracking and just stuff plastic bags all around it in the box for padding serves two purposes, 1. saves on packing and 2. recycles the plastic bags from the store as long as they are clean :-)
