Questions & Comments
I TOTALLY agree w/ ur update!! I am a FT mommy myself who does Listia when I get time. I also ship my items FREE of charge & I'm sure u know as good as anyone that shipping even the smallest & lightest of items is usually not cheap!! Heck, it costs me usually $2 to ship a tiny pair of earrings because anything over 1/4" cannot be sent letter rate. I too get things returned to me sometimes by our lame postal service (I'm not referring to the postal workers themselves but rather the very inefficient & uneconomical system that the USPS operates off of) & typically get most of the items I sell out 1-2 days after my auctions end but sometimes emergencies or unforeseen things happen & sometimes it's just not possible to get something to a winner as quickly as they like & it stinks; especially when they rush & file for a refund if they don't receive their item as quickly as they want.
I get SO frustrated because being a seller myself, I KNOW & expect these things & a lot of times I'm not paying any real money for the items I receive so I'm very patient & give the seller 2-3 weeks most of the time to come thru. If I don't receive my item by then I reach out to the seller & if I don't hear anything back THEN I request my refund (which btw I ALWAYS get). I just wish more people were a fraction of that patient & more realized that REAL life DOES happen to other people -even if time may drag by in their own life- & that they can get their refund just as easy 2 weeks out as they can 3-7 days after auctions close. Their credits aren't going anywhere & they'll get them back if they don't receive their item(s). Asking for a refund too soon equates to a situation where seller had something happen where they couldn't ship item out until day 7 & hasn't been online to contact winner due to circumstances but -yet as soon as they can- on day 7 seller packages up item and gets it all ready to be shipped; all to find when they log into Listia that impatient buyer already filed for a refund & did so as soon as they could (most likely buyer's remorse). Sooooo frustrating & everyone involved loses when that happens (except for when there is buyer's remorse as this is an excellent way to get out of having to give up credits buyer agreed to pay in order to win item)!!! Unless seller explicitly states in their listing that item will definitely be shipped out by xx date, buyers really need to be a little more patient & if they can't, then they shouldn't bid on any auction that doesn't promise a ship-by date (because it's not fair to everyone involved if they do). Sorry this is not related to auction items per say but I read what you wrote & I so agree & had to vent with ya! F & W!!!
I completely agree with you! Life can be so demanding at times and sometimes its hard to get out to ship items. As for me personally i work two part time jobs, have a house, a son, guardianship over my two younger sisters, no car currently, bills, a dog, and i still try to get everything shipped with listia asap. Im not superwoman lol. I mean sometimes i run out of money before i can ship the items and then i have to let the winners know hey i cant ship till i get paid on said date but ill get it shoped day after i get paid and some people just cant wait its so frustrating. Also when i ship an item that can go in a letter because it's cheaper and people complain about it it makes me want to quit listia all together but then i think well how else am i going to get rid of items i dont need and be able to get my family things i cant afford otherwise. Its a love hate thing at times lol fanning you!
I know the feeling about how buyers are impatient. I have had buyer tell me on the 3rd day I don't ship they will dispute. I don't have a car and was hit with hard rain, I was a home stay mom, who K12 school my son. I told the buyer on the 5th day I sent her item with tracking. On the same day, she went ahead disputed me, saying I never shipped the item. I also can't stand buyers or sellers who are rude and pushy. Great auction, watching and definitely will be bidding. Good luck on your auction.
I say screw 'em. If they don't want to be fair on this awesome website, block them. People like that should get blocked by everybody so they don't get to enjoy the wonderful things listians have to offer. I feel that as long as you stay in contact with me throughout the entire process you deserve the credits I bid. I hope you guys don't let a few cheap people ruin your experience.
Thank you i agree. Its tough in this day and age to get by and being a single parent its hard to get my child everything he wants and thats why i started using this site. I had great experiences up untill recently. Its like all of a sudden a lot of people needs things right away when i cant always do that.
