You open it up and insert a 3.5 in desktop hard drive. Very easy

You mean (to update it) that you remove the current drive and put a larger one in. You can't fit two 3.5" drives inside that housing.

No you open the enclosure and remove the hard drive that is in it and put the new one in. Very easy to do.
