actually no it does not there are two different types. they switched the box art. try looking it up on balbpidia ok pokemon wiki if your a fan like you said you are you would know this. Its the shiny version box art.

u can easily establish if it is a counterfeit or not with a pic of the back im not worried either way the game still plays as the original only time based events will not occur which if i remember correctly fire red does not have alot of so like i stated b4 im not worried either way i have a fake emerald and it works just fine its just not worth as much as the real deal

and if you look up what the internal battery does it is the time based events alot of ppl think that it stops you from saving and having issues with any of that but it doesnt like i said previously i have a fake copy of emerald states when i start the game that the internal battery has ran out but you can still play the game only time based events will not occur so if anyone is interested and dont care about time based events and also as i stated there is not alot of time based events in red
