Do not know what it came out of. Tried it in a spare Dell Sempron motherboard/cpu and worked fine there.

long as you need DDR2 yes, watch out for the DDR2 sticks though to be compatible they both need to be the same speed. This one listed is the 667 speed ones.

i definitely need this one now one of my sticks just went down so I am down to running 1.5 gigs with win 7 and it sucks

If I am correct you can mix speeds but the processor will run at the lower of the two.

been gone most the day and missed all the fun. I had 2 gb of ram. I tried using both in a system, but I could not get it to install windows xp or 7 because of the errors the 2 speeds were causing me. So I used the slower speed and kept this one. That is the only reason I said what I did. However, I am not saying your system would have the same result.

some higher speed ddr2 had a different pin set i believe there is 240, 280 and 320 pin ddr2
