The listing, RARE ~ LILY OF THE NILE ~ "LOVE FLOWER" Of The Ancient World! ~ AFRICAN BLUE LILY ~ 10 SEEDS has ended.

LILY OF THE NILE
Agapanthus, meaning LOVE FLOWER

Entreating the eyes of royal queens such as the beautiful, Cleopatra. . .for thousands of years this short tuft of green arching leaves filled with long stalks of intensely royal blue (lily like) flowers, lined the banks of the ancient Nile River.

During the 17th century the 'true blue' flower made it way to Europe and quickly earned a special place in formal gardens and green houses.

Though not actually from the Lily family, and not to be confused with the sacred Water Lily, this exotic bloom, also known as the African Blue Lily, derived its name "Agapanthus" from the Greek words: αγάπη (agape) = love and άνθος (anthos) = flower, or, "LOVE FLOWER."

Ornamental. Easy to Grow. Great cut flowers. Likes to live on the margins of water, including lakes, ponds or the deck of your swimming pool. Great for containers and can be overwintered indoors. Plant can sustain some cold temperatures if covered in thick mulch during winter.
PERENNIAL ZONES: 9-11
All other zones: If your temps drop are below 40 degrees it is best to pot and bring indoors.
SOW: Top sow into moist soil making sure seeds make contact by lightly pressing them onto soil - do not cover - or cover 'lightly' with sand to keep them from moving or harm from birds if planted outdoors. Make sure soil remains moist and not wet during germination.
GERMINATION: average 4 weeks.
Do not cut back plant at end of season. It's leaves are needed to store food for the next seasons growth.

My poor garden is having a rough season of constant storms, floods and heat waves...this year only the strong will survive, so we'll see who that is :)
