so what exactly do we get if we win? I just don't understand the "1 of the 3" part.
If I'm right you need the three (or at least the two parts in gray pack.) items in your picture, so winning one is like (insert analogy here).

I'm not sure! I didnt know there were knockoff? MY wife purchase them from e-bay (4pcs at $15/pc). We didnt know how to use them so our lost is your gain. We are both using AT&T carrier. We just wanted to see if we could unlock it and get the free APPS. As mention earlier, we fail greatly. SO we decided to put the 3 pcs we have left for auction. Hope the this info is helpful. Thanks...

hmm, yeah there are several people selling knock offs, but I read reports that some of them may even work.

@nanakuliian808 hose free apps you are talking about are pirate, and if you are familiar with jailbreaking, you know that the hacker community (mostly the dev-team) don't like people to promote piracy via jailbreaking or associate one with the other.
There are more than one method to get free apps, sure you don't always get the app you want, but if you want it think you may enjoy it why not pay for the app and support the developer?

You may want to try these websites, you can get free apps from them.
http://iphoneapp-promocodes.com/
http://www.iphonedevsdk.com/forum/iphone-promo-codes/

I'm not associated with any of those websites, in fact I don't even like to share ( it is more difficult to get a free app when there are several people after the same app) but hey if it helps to reduce piracy...

I think you should just update the auction (you don't know if it is original or not) and leave it. whoever wins will take a chance just like you did. If it works great, if it doesn't, there's nothing else you can do. or you can google the differences between the two (original and the other) and then act accordingly.

The knockoffs dont come in the Gevey branded pack like this one does. Theres a guy here on Listia that sells the knockoffs all the time. He probably has an auciton up right now. Theres two different types of Gevey, the regular standard one, and the turbo gevey. Im not sure what the turbo does that the regular doesnt do. Maybe provide 4g speeds, im not really sure. All you do to use these is you slide this into your sim card slot, and slide your sim card right on top of it, like a sim card samwhich. And I believe the phone will read read the gevey, which is pulling info off your own sim card, and will unlock. Im still not 100% sure HOW they work, but I do know they work, ive bought and sold several phones that had one, but never any of my own personal phones have had one.

lukeScooto you have your facts wrong. knockoffs come packed like the real deal, the only difference is in the chip it uses. Different versions are for different phones and procedures for example one versions requires you to dial an emergency phone, other version requires a jailbreak and so on. Sim cards (it doesn't matter what type won't improve connection speeds, that is, they won't boost your phone from 3G to 4G).
I think this the tethered version (yes like the jailbreak)

Not sure what your talking about, but just do a search, theres another guy selling knockoff ones right now, on this site. They're not in Gevey packaging, they're just the sim cards. He doesnt even say Gevey. THe phone does not have to be jailbroke. If it did, you wouldnt even need the card. Once you jailbreak an iphone, you dont need a sim card unlocker. Like I said, go look at the other one on this site right now. If you need me to link you message me and ill send you the link, i dont want to post it on dcw930's page here. But for Gevey's i do know theres a regular card, and a turbo. Cause everyone is using turbo's on their unlocked phones on ebay right now.

just do your research, I don't like to talk about things that I don't know. I never said that the phone had to be jailbroken, I said that some versions of the gevey sim requires a jailbreak which is different. Besides, even if you jailbreak an iPhone 4 it doesn't mean that you can unlock it. Ultrasn0w ( the tool we use for jailbreaks) does not support every baseband, that's where the gevey card comes into play. I'm sure that there are more people selling other knockoffs (the ones you describe) and I won't argue that; however, as I said before there are people selling "gevey sims" in original packages and when you use them....
and yeah I know about the turbo thing, that's just another version, but it won't boost your phone's speed just because it says "turbo".
BTW: some people called them turbo because that's what they were called when the original iPhone came out "Turbosim"
