Did u change the shipping details? I could have sworn when I first looked at this it said free shipping in the us?

Yes, its just for proper postage purposes. I don't think people would be thrilled if their ring was mailed in a basic letter envelope.. Somebody might be able to steal it or it might not survive the trip through the postal service. The $1 covers a better envelope and postage stamp. IF you are okay with the ring being in baggy in a basic envelope i can ship it as so with no cost fee.
