needle point the canvs have holes you fill in with stitches and crew is more like emerbry but ther stitch are lot closer
needle point and crewel is differt but the results look almost like a painting done in thread or yarns

I've been known to pick up a set of knitting needles or a crochet hook..once in a great while..but I never had the patience for any kind of embroidery work!

Omg, that is so sad, but so true! We grew up in an age where it wasn't considered "manly", whatever that is supposed to mean..do to traditional "womanly", whatever that is supposed to mean, crafting and such. I learned to knit when I was 9 years old..in a school classroom, by a feisty older lady teacher. The boys were expected to learn also..and they did! This was in Michigan. At that age, none of us thought it was weird. This teacher was way ahead of her time. This same teacher had us girls doing shop class..which was always for the boys..way back when. It proved to me that so many of our ideas about life..who is supposed to do what and who is not to, is learned behavior. Anyway, I just wanted to say that a man doing needlepoint seems perfectly fine to me..I have seen many such items..done by men..that would rival anything a woman can do. I've also known women who can take care of their own cars( not me). One of the nice things about living in this day and age is that we don't have to be labeled because of who we are and what we like to do. Of course, the old beliefs always die a slow death. Ok..climbing off of my soapbox now! Lol

the teacher is a great one people who thinks boy only do this thing and gorls only that thing are so narrow minded i teach a lot of the neighborhood kids both boys and girl the art of needle crafting now at my local labray of free i some how get a lot of my supplies on listia save me a mint i agree the both sexes should learn all kinds of things and not but a label on what boys thing to do and ehat girls things are support to do stero typing is so wrong always been
