The winner of this auction will receive the FDC (First Day Cover) envelope and stamp pictured above. This FDC is dated August 3, 1946 Iowa City, IA and features a black and white photo of the Iowa State Capitol Building in Des Moines. - the location of the origin of the stamp.

I came across this and other FDCs as part of a huge stamp hoard that I found in an antique store here in Central Iowa. I have sorted through the stamps and these are pieces that I am willing to part with.
