Description

The listing, Mining Mineral Rock from my collection has ended.

I am down sizing my mining rock collection and will be offering several over the next few weeks. The mining rocks I have came from an underground mine in the Missouri Ozarks of Iron County. This rock has been in my collection for many years.

Up for auction...1 mining mineral rock.I have two photos from two different angles....weighs 8oz. It is approximately 2 1/2in. wide--2in. high--4 1/2in. long and the minerals glisten and sparkle in different light settings.

I do not know the exact mineral names of the mining rocks but I do know they came from a local mine in whats called the Viburnum Trend District.i just enjoyed collecting them for their beauty. They sure do look great sitting on a fireplace mantle, are anywhere for that matter.Heres a little more information below of the area they came from.

The ore deposits of the Viburnum Trend in the Southeast Missouri Lead District constitute the world's largest lead producing district. Six or seven mines currently are in production in the Viburnum Trend. The principal minerals are few in number, simple in composition, and form simple superposition and replacement textures. The economically valuable minerals in the typical lead-zinc ores of the Viburnum Trend are the sulfides, galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, and siegenite. The most abundant gangue minerals are dolomite, marcasite, pyrite, calcite, quartz, and dickite. So I am sure that the rock being auctioned has some of these minerals.
