"The Cuban Comet" Minnie Minoso is known as being the only player to be active in 5 separate decades, having debuted in 1949 and despite leaving MLB in 1964, still played 3 games in 1976 and 2 games in 1980. But there's a LOT more to Minoso than that.
Between 1951 and 1961, Minoso:
-Led league in hits once.
-Led league in doubles once.
-Led league in triples 3 times.
-Led league in stolen bases twice.
-Batted over .300 9 times
-Led league in being hit by pitches 10 times!
-Hit 15 or more home runs 6 times, and more than 20 3 times.
-Drove in over 100 runs 4 times
After his career, Minoso collected enough votes to remain on the Hall of Fame ballot for the full 15 seasons of eligibility, but was never elected.
He passed away in March of 2015.
