The listing, 1965 Topps #40 FRANK HOWARD (Dodgers) 2-Time HR King, 1960 Rookie of the Year has ended.
This is an original vintage 1965 Topps #40 FRANK HOWARD baseball card.
Pictured here with the Los Angeles Dodgers, with whom he won Rookie of the Year in 1960, the powerful Howard is actually best known for his time with the Washington Senators. Known to fans as "Hondo", "The Washington monument", and "The capital Punisher", Howard pummeled 246 home runs during 8 years with the franchise, leading the league in homers twice, playing in 4 All Star games, and 4 times finishing in the top-10 of MVP voting. For his career, Howard hit 382 homers and drove in 1119. A statue stands in his honor in Nationals Park in Washington, which features only 3 statues: "Big Train" Walter Johnson, Negro League legend Josh Gibson, and Howard.
Card has some vintage wear including rounding of the corners, but not so bad considering it's a 1965 star baseball car that you're getting free on Listia!
