The listing, New Natural Mookaite Jasper Pendant has ended.

This is a natural mookaite jasper pendant that measures 39x27x9mm. I do not know what the silver part is. I would imagine silver plated. I just love mookaite. It is one of my favorite stones.

Mookaite is named after the local area it comes from, Mooka Creek in the Kennedy Ranges near Gascoyne Junction which is about 100 miles inland from the coastal town of Carnarvon in Western Australia. Mookaite is found only in Australia and is actually a fossiliferous sedimentary rock & it is reasonably common to find cavities left by decomposed belemnite casts or in some rare cases , impressions of ammonites. This rock consists of the remains of tiny organisms known as radiolaria that have an unusual skeletal structure of opaline silica. Billions of these little critters were deposited as sediment in the shallow areas of ancient sea beds. When the seas retreated, these sediments were cemented into solid rock by silica carried in groundwater. The type and degree of silicification varies from place to place, forming opalite, chert and chalcedony.

Will do ... be sure to post them for at least a week. I'll be away this weekend and will probably have limited time to shop and mess around with Listia. I'm taking my little 10-inch laptop with me and it's such a pain to use that I really keep my computer time to a minimum when I'm traveling. Plus, we will be visiting with my kids (parents weekends at their colleges) and we'll have my in-laws with me. Hopefully the condo we're staying in has wifi ....

I mean, make the listing for at least 7 days length. I actually make most of mine 15 to 21 days if they are Get It Now, and post a few each week not GIN for six to 11 days. I also start all mine at 9 credits. This lets people put in a low watch bid, they know they'll be outbid so it won't tie up their credits, but keeps it on their bidding list and reminds them to come back to bid again!
