Questions & Comments
Hello, Mrs. Adams here :)
Two tips as a seasoned Listian:
1) Buyers: you can Google this title of a book and see how it looks like etc., then ask Seller if indeed this is what the book is about-confirm.
2) Seller: you do not infringe any author's rights if you take a photo or two of the pages for several reasons. First, you are not doing to illegally reproduce the book without permission but rather to divulge more information about the item you are selling. Second, the picture you take do not have to show every detail of the page, but in general people want to see if it has pictures in, if the font is large, how many pages, if the pages look clean and new etc.etc. Auctions that lack this type of information might be flagged so just trying to help you here. The more information you volunteer, the better bids you will have. This is how you earn a bidder's confidence. I am a Disney buyer and seller so I hope this helps.
What? How are people supposed to bid if they don't even know what the book is.. or about.... that seems shady to not want to post a photo of the contents... how do we even know there are pages in the book!?
The Listia Support Team got back to me, they said:
"Hello RedRascal,
We know the feeling...you list an item, but forgot one important detail and need to update your listing. Thankfully you're able to edit your listings yourself. To do this, first visit the listing you want to edit, and you will see an "Edit" button near the top of the page. What information you are able to change on your listing depends on whether there are any bids on it or not, with a few exceptions. You are not able to edit the original title, the listing description, increase the shipping fee, remove images, or change a listing from free shipping to any other form of shipping. We also don’t allow any changes to listings that have less than 24 hours remaining before it's scheduled to end.
We want to make sure you are able to update your listing, but we need to make sure that any updates do not materially change the item that is being listed, which is why we have these restrictions, and what can be changed when there are bids on an auction.
We hope this answers your questions but let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.
Thank you! Listia Customer Support Team"
I don't think it's fair to take a picture of the book contents because that would materially change the item being listed. If I included the pages from the inside from the beginning, it would be different, but it's unfair to show them now after the bidding has started. All bids from now on are on this item as originally described and depicted.
