Is this a pin or pendant? Can you post a picture of the back? When you say real do you mean carved shell? Thank you. Watching.

Stick your young to it if it is cool it is shell, if it is room temp. It is plastic. Also if it clicks like a rock its shell, if it is a soft sound or no sound when you knock it lightly against your teeth it is plastic. Really simple. I had an antique store for years and believe me I learned fast.

I don't think so it has been well kept inside a cedar chest in a box wrapped up I wish I know how to tell anything else about the appraiser when I inherited this did not put a value on it so I really have no idea I just know I did not need it I have so much and don't ever wear pins

I always rub them on my jeans and touch them to my cheek. If it does not get warm by rubbing against my jeans and is cool when I touch it to my cheek it is either shell or ivory.

A lot of old cameos where made from Sardonyx (stone). The Older, original cameos are Sardonyx not shell. Sure wish I had the credits to GIN this!
