Questions & Comments
Fr.m the picture this looks like resin, not shell; I would guess resin.
I really have no idea the appraiser did not tell me much about it at all just that is was very old I do have more cameo bracelets I will be listing later on he put a value of 900.00 on so I may let one of them go later so keep checking back thanks
I really don't know how to tell but this came from my aunts estate and she never had anything that wasn't expensive it was well kept and probably never worn

Stick your young to it if it is cool it is shell, if it is room temp. It is plastic. Also if it clicks like a rock its shell, if it is a soft sound or no sound when you knock it lightly against your teeth it is plastic. Really simple. I had an antique store for years and believe me I learned fast.
I will try that and see LOL I never thought about doing anything I don't mess with vintage items they say If u try to clean them or anything it will mess up the value so I try to just do it as is and the winner find out but I will try it and see what I come up with thanks so much for the info
I don't think so it has been well kept inside a cedar chest in a box wrapped up I wish I know how to tell anything else about the appraiser when I inherited this did not put a value on it so I really have no idea I just know I did not need it I have so much and don't ever wear pins
LOL I got you I am not home soon as I get home I will do that test and post tomorrow what I find out I hate putting my tongue on it since it has been kept so long my aunt said it was from about 1922 or later so I don't know but I will find out and post soon as I can
I always rub them on my jeans and touch them to my cheek. If it does not get warm by rubbing against my jeans and is cool when I touch it to my cheek it is either shell or ivory.
