water irises are great for ponds or creeks or fountains. they will also grow in regular garden in sandy soil. for pond plant them in sand in plant pot and place them in pond on a rock where the top of soil is just at top of water line.you will get 2-3 root starts . I cut the tops to fit them in envelope but leave enough for them to start to take root in soil. they can get as high as 3 ft they seem to ship well .
