Description
The listing, Hand carved wooden trinket dish w/lid has ended.
Hand carved and painted small trinket dish. Excellent condition. No signature or marks on it that I can find.
I don't know where this was from but it was my Mom's and I know when she brought things back from mission trips it was usually something that doesn't match anything in my house so....this little baby is going to a new home.
(My Mom has passed away so I can't ask her)
I will only ship to Listia Verified Address within the USA
Questions & Comments
I really like this piece. I collect trinket containers. I enjoy putting items in them for one of my grandchildren and they so enjoy the surprise!!!
Awe, that's nice. I don't have any grand babies yet (any only one son to give them to me!!) He is 23 and I am actually "SLIGHTLY" looking forward to a grand baby.lol
You just never know which items you have sitting around your house that your friends on Listia will really like. Who knew? Thank you everyone that is bidding, watching and going to bid. I am happy to know that who ever the winner might be that there were so many people willing to give this little wooden dish a new home. I hope who ever the winner is keeps this for a very long time and keeps it in a safe place. It belonged to my precious Mama and I'm sure it came from one of her missionary trips. She loved carved wood items and I have some large wood covered dishes she brought back from India with elephants on it. Can't keep everything but I can't give everything up either. lol
Thank you. Saying good bye to alot of things that I really like...just have too many things...My Mama always told me, "You can't take it with you" and it's time I start letting go of things so my only son won't have to one day when I'm gone. lol
Yes I need to get some more auctions up today too! I am putting up a 'WHITING AND DAVIS" vintage evening purse and some vintage earrings and I don't know what else I will find for today.
I just found it again and no it does not identify on it where it came from. I know that it was something my Mama brought back with her from somewhere they had traveled to but don;t know where.
Thank you. Definitely a eye catcher because of the unique design. I like the inside of the dish how it is just kind of molded and smooth. Don't know how to explain it but very nice.
I f I remember correctly, I think it is about 3 1/2" to 4" tall and 3 1/2" diameter. Thanks for asking. I clicked on two of the pics with the width and not the one with the height....
Wow, every time I am flipping through my auctions page and I see this little wooden trinket dish I sort of wish I didn't put it up for auction!! Oh well, I won't be an Indian giver...well, because I can't...hee hee
All his wooden trucks were on shelves in his room when he was little...never played with them...yep...I'm a mean mommy and a little whacked out !!! lol
My decor is definitely a multitude of different styles but I love WOOD...I still have about 75 wooden trucks that we got when my son was little. We would buy them whenever we saw them at the truckstops... handmade and so many different ones!! His toys when he was a baby I always bought every wood toy I saw....I have 2 big wooden boxes full of wooden blocks...I'm crazy... I do have a bunch of wooden shelves and boxes if you're interested I'll see about putting some of them on and we could meet half way sometime for pick-up? I doubt I could afford to ship any of them. ha ha ha
