Chocolate mint leaves have a delightful minty chocolate flavor, much like the classic Girl Scout cookie. In small garden spaces, it is best to tuck chocolate mint into a pot to curtail its wandering ways. Chocolate mint thrives alongside water gardens or in damp spots in the yard. Lushest growth occurs in moist soil in partial shade. Crush fresh leaves into water for a refreshing beverage, or add to tea or coffee. You can also dry leaves for flavoring desserts, like ice cream, meringues, quick breads, or cakes. Pick leaves frequently. Plants open lavender blooms in late summer. Tolerates light frost.

Most mints are started from stem cuttings or root divisions. With few exceptions, vegetative propagation is the only way to get true to variety mints. Chocolate mint is a hybrid. True chocolate mint is propagated vegetatively, so you may get varying results from seeds. The chocolate scent may be stronger or less prominent when grown from seed.

yes you can. Just need to protect them from getting to hot and from frost. Best to start them in a pot so you can monitor them and move them if needed. Its so hot here, I have mine in partial shade.

I'm sorry I have one more question, the description says that the spacing should be lots of inches apart, does this mean I can't plant so many seeds in one pot?

I copied and pasted the description. I dont do that, I use 25-50 seeds in a pot. Keep it moist until they sprout. Ive lost some from them drying out so now I keep a coffee can lid under them to hold water longer.

One last question please, do I need to buy potting soil or can I just use soil from my regular flower bed?

you can use any soil, just make sure it drains well. we have clay issues in ours so I love to cheat and just buy a bag.
