The listing, 1901 Flour Advertising Paper Sign - Americana has ended.
This is the last of my advertising signs and my favorite one!!!
This is an advertising calendar from 1901 featuring 2 little boys, one white, one black.
It measures 16" wide by 20" tall and it's made of thick paper.
It's been pinned up several times as you can see by the corners, it's been taped up, it's been glued up, and I think it's been stepped on too. It also has had some water damage down the right side. But it's in great shape for it's age. It's also yellowed on the back but the front seems to still be in wonderful condition.
The question is always "is it really old? or is it a reproduction?" My honest answer to that one is.....I don't know. I bought it at an antique store in the 90's and I always thought it was a reproduction (an old reproduction - but a reproduction none the less). Everyone who's looked at it recently thinks it's really from 1901. So again...my answer is I don't know!
My gut says it's probably a reproduction from the 50s to the 70s,
Either way it's a fantastic piece and would make a great addition to any vintage advertising collection, African-American collection, or Americana collection.
