Gomphocarpus physocarpus, commonly known as balloonplant, balloon cotton-bush, bishop's balls or swan plant, is a species of milkweed. The plant is native to southeast Africa, but it has been widely naturalized. It is often used as an ornamental plant. The name "balloonplant" is an allusion to the swelling bladder-like follicles which are full of seeds. These attract Monarchs, and my plant was covered with them last year. I have a lot of seeds and seed pods. Just let me know how many you want, and pay the postage!

Each pod has approximately 50 to 100 seeds in it, and you can get 5 for that shipping.

That's terrific! We want to attract more monarchs but our regular milkweed plants can't seem to produce enough leaves so I'm hoping this will help.

These really are covered with them...last year I took in several to the day care and we watched them hatch before letting them go. This year there seems to be quite a few less.
