they basically mean will it hold a save, because some gb and gba pokemon games have been known to randomly delete the save file on you, like u can save it, but it randomly deletes itself because of some... thing in the cartridge thats low or whatever

i mostly see it in pokemon emerald, i havent ever seen a problem with saveing in gameboy games, just gameboy advance emerald, i think its a good deal
