Description

The listing, NWOT's Retro 50's Housewife Halter Dress Size L has ended.

This Brand New dress I accidentally ordered twice. Rather than hassling to send it back I decided to list it! This is a Bandage Halter Dress with a zipper back that stretches.
Size L - Bust 38.5 Waist: 31.5 Hips: 42.5 Shoulder to Hem: 44.5
I wear a crinoline with mine but it looks great either way. I get a ton of compliments every time I wear this dress!
Sorry NO Gin on this one! Just want to relax and let things bid out this time! Starting nice and low so good luck ladies!!!
I have several dresses like this and absolutely LOVE them. I call them my Stepford wife dresses...I wear them when I need to be festive and add a crinoline for extra puff or as is for a regular night out. I can't believe I ordered the same dress twice. It will be interesting to see how many people like the same style I do. I know I get a lot of questions and comments when I where them - where did you get it and nice dress. These are very flattering and although it comes with a tie belt I opt for a solid stretch belt to cinch it in better.

These dresses only go up to a 40" bust and a 34" waist. That is their XL...if enough people are interested I may pick up a couple of different designs in this style and list them. PM me and let me know what size you would like to see! I will search for some for plus size ladies as they should be able to wear these cute styles too! If I can't find any I will sew one myself!

Sorry, I do feel for you. It can be frustrating to see clothes that you can't have. I have a unique build and I learned to see and alter my own clothes. I made a dress, without using a pattern, and it is perfect for me. I am thinking about making some of these for the bigger ladies since they don't sell them.

My chest is to large for this dress so I am having a boobooface moment. This dress is gorgeous and I would love to have it.

How close is it? The back does have elastic that gives extra room in the top. Also being a halter is more flexible because the length of the ties. I am a 34DD or 36D and I don't use the zipper but simply pull it on over my head. There is room in the chest area and it would fit up to a 40D or DD. More than that would probably be pushing it. Thanks for looking.

Yea I know what you mean, When I saw this one I thought it would be an easy on for me to make. The thrift stores always have old patterns to pick-up for cheap.
I've lost 93 pounds and am looking to rebuild my wardrobe.

I would need a lot more information. Measurements in inches around the bust, waist, and your length from shoulder to knee....I am not sure if I am going to do it. Depends on the level of interest - will probably make one and list it and see how it goes over.

It's A-line so hips are usually a much wider open area as the circle skirt flares out for volume

You would need to know the inches around the bust and waist. Bra size doesn't work for fitting a dress...

It would be easier for you to measure around the fullest part of your bust around the back to get your actual chest measurement and not the cup size. I wear a 34DD or 36D and my measurements are 38" around. There is still room in the chest area and the elastic is not even being stretched on me. Technically it states 38.5' for this size but I believe it would accommodate up to 40" comfortably. Everyone is built differently and it is impossible for me to know if it would work for you. Use the measurements I gave and see if your numbers are close. I took pictures of the elastic panel as it is a good sizeable panel.

For ladies looking to purchase this style in Plus sizes there are 2 options I found to be reputable - Torrid: has several designs up to a 6X. Rockabillyboutique: based in the U.S., limited designs, up to 4X. Both places are similarly priced so check them out.

Does the waist stretch to bigger. I have a waist issue. Every other part of the dress will fit me but my waist is hard to fit. My measurements are 38, 42, 48. My husband says I look like a pair. But I would love to have one these dresses in my size. Let me know if you have one or can find one. Thank you so much :-)

Sorry but they don't make them to accommodate you. I am considering making some bigger ones this style but with more stretchable areas in the waist. Fan me and keep an eye out as I will list them here.

I have the exact same thing! I have about 8 different designs in this style and a couple with the sleeve design. I don't want to have the crinoline sewn in as it doesn't have the versatility to go with or without it and it's fuller with the crinoline separate. I do rarely not wear a crinoline with it but I can wear one crinoline with several different dresses when they are separate. The bloomers would be super cute for girls! I have seen them for girls but I don't have any children in that age group.

I wear a xxl. But I love it...would love to know here you found a crinoline!
