The listing, Vintage snuff box? has ended.

I believe it is a vintage brass snuff holder.
It does not have any dints in it but it is missing a couple of the green rhinestones on the top.
Handle is sturdy and not loose at all.

Measurements in pictures:
Approx 2 3/8" long from tip of handle to front of box
Approx 1 1/8" from side to side of box
Approx 1" from front to back of box
Approx 1/2" Tall from bottom of cup to top of cup (not including the rhinestone & design on top of it

I will only ship to Listia Verified Address within the USA
I don't mind giving my things away via auction on Listia but I do not want to pay you to take my things.

LOL your conversation is funny! It could be a portable ashtray. Up until the 1960s women of proper upbringing never walked with a cigarette. There were all sorts of little ashtrays to choose from. This one is really cute.!! :0) njoy

I like that idea of an ashtray!! I used to smoke and if I did still I would keep it and use it for that! However, no chance that I will ever smoke again because I have had cancer since 2004 - though doctors said it is not smoking related - it's another disgusting habit and how stupid would I be if i still did it anyway!

I never understood why they have a handle on them... trying to get snuff out of there holding that little handle seems like it would just twist in your fingers and dump the snuff all over the place...lol

But they snort snuff. I think ut was probably easy to obtain during that period so the handle was like a lil finger, dip some out with it and inhale whatever didn't fall off!

This handle does not come off so you couldn't dip it into the front of the box.
I know they used to snort a "snuff" however my BF dips and what he buys actually says, "SNUFF" on the can.... (though disgusting somehow I have endured the sight for 13 yrs!)

FYI,,,i have a square one with like a rainbow on top,,i had thought it was a snuff box to anyway,,then i saw the 1 just like mine and mine was missing a part of it..the 1 listed on listia had it was in perfect condition,,there ash trays ,,look at the blackness in yours mine to is kinda like that,,it wouldnt be if it was a snuff box ,,,and over the years i have just used mine to put flints in for my zippos ,,i take them out of the cheap lighters when they go out of fluid,,but anyway that is what they are,,there really cool i was going to list mine until i found out what it really was ,,,so i still keep my flint in it,,lol,,i really like yours to,,ill be watching,,

snuff would discolor the brass also. but ashtray, snuff box whichever probably could be either or both.
