Johnson was elected vice-president to Abraham Lincoln, and became President upon the assassination of Lincoln. Johnson did not have a vice-president during his term of office. Only one of two Presidents to be impeached (the other was Bill Clinton). This was the second attempt to impeach Johnson, the first in 1867 failed. On May 26, 1868, the Senate acquitted Johnson by a vote of 35 to 19, only one vote short of the two-thirds required for conviction. Bears the name of George T. Brown, Sergeant-at-Arms of the U.S. Senate. The paperboard ticket is pastel orange in color. A tear is evident along the border in the upper left hand corner as a result of stub detachment. Ticket remains in very good condition with some paper loss on the left side considering it's age
