This is simply gorgeous. To give you a bit more information on it, it is part of Día de Muertos A Mexican National Holiday to honor the Ancestors. This is a sugar skull which have become common in American homes today. This Skull does not loom as death but as honoring those who have crossed into the next. It is in no way attached to Voodoo, Hoodoo, Voodou etc. A traditional Sugar Skull will have the name of the ancestor on the forehead along with symbols that the family have used sometimes back to pre-spanish settlement. Very few symbols still remain from that time as ancestor veneration in this form was looked down upon by Spainards. In the last few years American culture has started to bring in the form of the sugar skull into pop culture.
