I honestly am not sure if it lights up or what ? it has a place as you can see on the bottom for a battery ; probably a watch sized battery. but i have never tried to put a battery into it to see what it does. . Im sorry that is not very helpful to you , but i just liked them at the time for they way they looked & wasn't really worried if they lite up or played sound .. sorry. but thank you for looking :)
