Description

The listing, Vintage Book - Paradise Lost - John Milton has ended.

I had to rate this book as acceptable because there are no other choices. I am not sure, but there may be some pages missing. I am not even sure if this book as any value but it was with a book collection I acquired where most of the books were late 1800's. I could not find one on Ebay. There is no copyright that I can find. I am listing it in this condition in hoped not just that it will be of some value, but if it is someone may want to restore it. The outside binding is solid, but as you can see from the pictures some of the pages are loose.

Shipping is $3.00.
I am happy to combine shipping on multiple listings.
I will consider free shipping with a higher GIN amount, but be aware the amount may be considerable more than the current listing amount. If interested just comment.
I take Paypal or money order for payment. My Paypal address is tymbur@dencar1.com. Please, note which item you have won when you are paying the shipping. I will also take concealed cash although I don't recommend it. I have not had any problems and have always received the cash, however, I can't be responsible for lost payment. Another option that has worked nicely is if you would like to send stamps for cost of postage.

I am sorry I cannot do free shipping from the start.

I will mail within 7 business days of the end of the listing and/or when payment is received. I live in a very rural area and get to town about once a week.
I regret to add that I need payment for shipping within 7 days OR at least contact me for other arrangements. If you bid and do not contact me or pay shipping, I will keep your credits and relist the item. As I wrote, I regret this, but I have had too many people who have not responded to my emails or will not want to pay shipping and want their credits back.
Thank you so much for your interest! Good Luck!
Questions & Comments
Original
The first "Paradise Lost" was printed in 1667. I asked Yahoo.com how much this particular book was worth and this is the answer they gave. "Best Answer: Most books published in the US (I have no idea where Belford, Clarke is or was) between the Civil War and WWII are worth no more than ten bucks, even in great condition. Sad, huh? We had a great many do deal with when a relative died, and they averaged about $3, although some went for $15 or so. Lots more, nobody wanted and finally went at three for a dollar.

Of course, it's possible this book you have could be the exception which is now collectible. The only way to know that is to either pay for an appraisal, which could easily cost more than the book is worth, or keep checking online sales sites until an identical volume is for sale. Pay no attention to asking price, only to bids and final selling price.

I suspect it's going to be way cooler to have the book itself than the amount of money you might get for it, but that's just a guess. "
I don't have a copy myself and am watching while I think it over. I have never read it, but I have certainly read much about it.

Thanks so much for your info. I had hoped to find more on it on the internet, but could not. I would very much like to see it get a good home with someone who could either restore it, if of value, or someone who would just enjoy it. Thanks so much for stopping by!
