At that price, It's probably Plastic. It's definitely Not comparable to this one, This Mic alone, cost TRIPLE that price and is a Professional mic, not a toy.:)

There is no date listed on it. I bought the mic new several years ago, as an extra replacement mic, but never needed to use it It's comparable to a Shure SM58.
